Job Description for Head of Marketing - Aguad, Goa

Location : Goa , Candolim.

Key Responsibility:

We are seeking a Marketing Head to handle all marketing & outreach activities for our heritage site – the erstwhile Aguad Port & Jail premises.

This role would entail a combination of Marketing & Outreach Management for the entire multi-use complex comprising the old Jail premises, the Digital Museum, Art and Exhibition Galleries, on site Food and Beverage establishments, as also a number of events held at multiple venues within the premises from time to time. There are expected to be other innovative attractions that are being worked on presently, which all put together position the Aguad as an amazingly unique premise and well on its way to eventually becoming a “must visit” location for local Goans and Tourists alike. The role will report to the Group - CEO, based out of Goa.

Key role requirements:

MARKETING: 

  1. Be the Brand evangelist for the Aguad : Creating and ensuring there is a clear Vision for the brand Aguad and to ensure that it has a distinct positioning built into the minds of all stake-holders. All Aguad material (branded or otherwise) being used in any way, by anyone must be approved by the Marketing Head. 

  2. Must be familiar and be able to plan and execute all ATL and BTL communication across all forms. 

  3. Building annual and seasonal marketing plans to not only drive ticketed walk-ins (most important revenue source), as also based on various events and other activities hosted at the Aguad from time to time. Strong Revenue and profitability focus to achieve financial targets. Must always be on the lookout for new and innovative ways to add to the various (profitable) revenue streams already identified. 

  4. Set up and manage the required internal team and identify and manage external agencies that would help support the planning and execution of all Marketing activities. The external agencies could include Creative Agencies, PR, social media/Digital Marketing, Web-site development and management, etc etc. This would require setting timelines for receiving various marketing materials to promote the Aguad itself, as well as all the activities on premise.

  5. Building various support materials like presentations, pitch proposals etc 

  6. Be on top of regular Marketing material going out (including strict adherence to the Brand Manual) – in all forms. This would also include building of trusted, and quality conscious, suppliers like printers, fabricators, photographers, event management agencies, etc  

  7. Provide very effective support to the Events team (internal and external) for all the Marketing efforts and materials that may be required.

OUTREACH:

  1. Build and develop relationships with various external stakeholders and foster them to be “Friends of the Aguad”. These should include, but not limited to, academic and cultural institutions, associations, foundations, influencers of various types, local governmental and select NGOs, etc 

  2. Build and develop relationships with the local community – organisations and agencies that work on sanitation and waste management, art, culture, education.

Qualifications, Experience & Skill requirements:

  1. Master's/Bachelor’s degree in (ideally in Marketing) with approx. 8 to 10 years of experience, of which at least 3 to 4 years in Sr. Marketing role

  2. Very strong understanding of Digital Marketing – and having the capability to plan, and direct digital campaigns with all internal and external partners in a coordinated manner so as to get the best results. 

  3. Must also have strong financial acumen to ensure effective results from the marketing efforts, and hence a P&L mindset is important.

  4. Experience in preparing presentation templates and documents and with a high degree of attention to detail. Good problem-solving & multitasking skills to manage multiple and often changing priorities against tight deadlines

  5. This being a leadership role, very strong interpersonal skills along with the ability to deal with multiple internal and external stakeholders is key.

Besides being an astute Marketing professional, and this ultimately being a business that aspires to provide rich, differentiated and varied experiences to its target customers, the person must be a very amiable character, have the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and have an excellent “service” mindset. 

Exposure to, or having interests in, the arts would definitely be an asset.

Very, very strong understanding and skills in all aspects of Digital Marketing is a fundamental requirement – including search engines, various social media platforms, digital partnerships, etc
